Watch what you drive.

(Kuala Lumpur=Koreanpress) by Ramani Rathi = The film opens with an extreme close-up of Paul Walker’s brilliant blue eyes as he careens across a highway  during a high-speed car chase. It all starts when Paul Walker goes to rent a mini-van, and from then on, the entire film almost takes place in it. This is not new role for Walker as it reminds one of his previous appearances in the Fast and Furious series.

This movie has the mandatory car chase and enough action to keep the front benchers happy. It places Walker as a tourist, in the 'wrong place, at the wrong time' . One that for the first twenty minutes of the film is virtually a one-man Walker show. He appears capable and sturdy in these scenes and manages to hold our attention
Michael Woods(Paul Walker) is in South Africa, to try and reconcile with his ex-wife. He rents the min-van and ends up with the wrong vehicle due to the car rental’s mix up. Unknown to Michael, there is a cell phone in the glove box, a gun under his seat, and worst of all, a 'cargo' in the trunk.
Getting down to the pressing matter on hand, Michael finds it is tougher to patch things up with his ex than he imagined. From this point onwards,  things go from bad to worse for the American. As a recovering drunk and recently paroled, he has to do his best to stay out trouble in a foreign land. His unshaven face and denim shirt suggest a rough criminal but his casual southern drawl spoils the image.
Michael stands out in the car chases and action sequences and there is never a dull moment in this movie. Not entirely original, still it keeps you on the edge of your seat. The movie delivers and is perfectly watchable, as a simplethriller.abc@koreanpress.net
