Mythology presented in a modern format.
(Kuala Lumpur=Koreanpress) by Ramani Rathir = The Legend of Hercules (formerly known as Hercules: The Legend Begins and Hercules 3D) is an upcoming 2014 American action film directed by Renny Harlin and co-written with Daniel Giat, Giulio Steve and Sean Hood. The film stars Kellan Lutz, Gaia Weiss, Scott Adkins, Roxanne McKee and Liam Garrigan.
It is one of two Hollywood Hercules movies scheduled for 2014, with Paramount Pictures / MGM's Hercules: The Thracian Wars. . This has Dwayne Johnson as the elder version of the mythological hero. He plays a world weary mercenary open for hire.
The film opens in 1200 BC, where a queen succumbs to the lust of Zeus to bear a son. The infant prince is to carry out the prophecy of overthrowing the tyrannical King Amphitryon (Scott Atkins) and bring peace to Ancient Greece.
But this prince, Hercules (Kellan Lutz), knows nothing of his real identity or his destiny. He desires only one thing: the love of Hebe, Princess of Crete, who has been promised to his own brother. When Hercules learns of his greater purpose, he must choose: to flee with his true love or to fulfill his destiny and become the true hero of his time. Soon after the demigod son of Zeus is betrayed by his royal step-father, and he must now battle his way back from exile and slavery to depose the king. In doing so, bring the prophecy to pass.
The question now arises – can audiences accept another mythological figure given a modern treatment, much like what was done for Clash of the Titans and the Immortals? Sometimes, like a tried and true recipe of a cup cake, need no changes at all. It is better to have a good dirt hitting combat of sword, sandals and sand! Throw the digital visuals and 3D affects away and get down to hard hitting muscle and brawn. firstname.lastname@example.org
