A simple way to keep your health.

A good way to store water.

(Kuala Lumpur=Koreanpress)  Nancy Joseph = Indian families usually have their kitchen filled with copper or brass utensils. There would be a large drum like copper container where water would be stored. This is done from seven to eight hours. After this, anyone in the household can draw a cup of cool refreshing water from it for a thirst quenching drink. It is said to be especially good for the mind and body.

Indian yogis, especially Sadhguru, announced, “If you keep water in a copper vessel, at least for fours hours, though it would be best to leave it overnight, the water acquires a certain quality from the copper which is very good for your liver in particular and your health and energy in general.” But with the advent of the modern era, this age old custom faded away.

But now it is making a comeback. Ayurveda recommends drinking water from copper vessels because it is believed to have anti-microbial, antioxidant, anti-carcinogenic and anti-inflammatory properties. Copper is said to have the highest vibration of all metals.

Copper is an essential mineral for our body. Also medical studies have proved the benefits of drinking water well stored in copper jugs. This has been proven by a study done in 2012. In this, it was discovered storing contaminated water in copper vessels for up to 16 hours at room temperature reduced the presence of harmful microbes very much. The researchers came to the conclusion that “…copper holds promise as a point-of-use solution for microbial purification of drinking-water, especially in developing countries.”

One more study found that any object with copper surfaces killed 97% of hospital ICU bacteria that can cause infections, resulting in a40% decrease in the infection rates.

Ayurveda texts suggest that water stored in a copper vessel has the ability to balance all the three doshas in your body (vata, kapha and pitta). Doshas is a Sanskrit word meaning ‘mind-body constitution.’ All three of these elements are present in every cell, tissue, and organ of our body. These are essential for movement, metabolism, and fluidity, which are all essential components of Life.

How to store water in Copper containers

Simply pour water in a jug and keep it overnight. Next morning, drink the positively charged water in the early morning or 2-3 times in a day. Remember not to refrigerate that water. Wash the copper pot regularly with fresh lemon or a paste made out of salt and tamarind.
